Review: “Is Everyone Having Fun Without Me”

I recently complete a cross-country road trip (south to north) and took along several books for those times I was a passenger.

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (and other concerns)” by Mindy Kaling is a great book for some fun reading. Mindy is real, even though she’s famous, and I feel like a lot of her comments are things that resonate with my worldview.

I’m sure her book is supposed to have humor in it, but I didn’t find it was funny as her acting comedy like that of “The Office” and “The Mindy Project.” Maybe that’s just me.

While the book contains snippets of her life, it’s not really a story or memoir, just more a collection of thoughts. Famous people tend to be able to write just about anything and it will sell.

Mindy is smart (she graduated from Dartmouth) and talented. Her acting and script-writing career attests to that. This book is good, it just not great.
