Countdown to Christmas 19: Greeting cards

Yesterday and today the fiance and I worked on our Christmas cards. They are each unique, but follow the same format.

I started by using inDesign to write a message for the inside. I planned to make invitation sized cards (’cause that’s what I had a lot of envelopes for. ) Invitation is half a letter size sheet of paper, so there were two messages on each sheet of cardstock.

I purchased some Christmas-themed scrapbook paper on sale at Michaels. For the base rectangle, I cut pieces 5 by 3.75 inches, which is inset a quarter inch from the edge of the card. You should be able to get six per sheet with leftover strips. Save the leftovers!!!

In addition to decorative stripes that was one print of the paper pack, I used the leftovers as an accent strip.

For the cover message I bought a stamp set (back in June at a going to retire sale) of Christmas stamps. I got red, gold and silver ink pads. Then I cut white cardstock into 1.5 by 2.5 rectangles,  which the fiance and I stamped. 20161207_223932.jpg

Glue all the parts together,  sign,  and send.
